The first concrete was poured at a new nuclear power plant last Monday!  The plant is being built at Kakrapar in Gujarat India.  Officially, the groundbreaking for the project was in January, but pouring the first concrete is always an exciting milestone for a new nuclear plant.

A recent article in the Houston Chronicle by Bud WeinStein details how the state of Texas has realized that nuclear power is the most efficient and cost effective means of generating the power that the Lone Star State needs to acheive it's growth objectives.
